ProgressAlly Objectives Tab

The Objectives tab in ProgressAlly helps you track learner progress and define milestones within your Offerings. Each Objective represents a specific action learners need to take, such as watching a video, passing a quiz, or downloading a resource.

When an Objective List is marked complete, you can trigger additional features like running Custom Operations or showing a PopupAlly Pro completion popup to guide the learner to their next step.

1. Location

You’ll find the ProgressAlly Objectives tab, in the ProgressAlly Page Settings section, this is displayed in “Edit Page” mode in WordPress.

Select the “+ Add Objective” button to create your first Objective.

2. Types of Objectives

Each Objective type corresponds to a different kind of learner activity. Click below to learn more about setting up each type:

  • Text – Require learners to read or acknowledge text.
  • Media – Create media bookmarks, and track video or audio completion.
  • Quiz – Require learners to take a quiz.
  • Page/Post – Track Objective List completion on specific page(s) or post(s).
  • Note – Completed when a learner submits a private note.
  • Download Protected Content – Track downloads of worksheets (or PDFs.)
  • Download Certificate – Mark completed when learners download their earned certificate.
  • Offering – Used to track progress over all pages/posts in an Offering.

3. Additional Features

At the bottom of the Objectives tab there are two additional features. These can be used upon completion of all items in an Objective List.

Run AccessAlly Custom Operation upon Completion

  • Trigger automated actions (such as applying tags, sending emails, or unlocking new content) once an Objective List is complete.

Objective Completion Popup

  • Display a PopupAlly Pro popup with a celebratory message, instructions, or encouragement when learners finish an Objective List.

4. Best Practices

  • Mix and match Objectives: For example, pair a Media Objective (watch a video) with a Quiz Objective (check understanding.)
  • Celebrate milestones: Use certificates to make progress feel rewarding.
  • Guide learners forward: Add instructions or links in popups to show what to do next.
  • Testing: confirm objectives are working as desired
